2017 - The Battle of Savage Hill
It is with great sadness and deep regret that we must acknowledge the untimely passing of Danny East.
A talented actor of stage and film, Danny was also an accomplished musician, songwriter and, of course, a very generous human being.
Due to this tragic circumstance, we are making every effort to complete this film as soon as possible and have it screening locally (and available online ultimately).
Danny will be greatly missed by the cast and crew of 'Savage Hill'. Not only did he serve additionally as our prop master, but Danny's characterization of 'Tall Tale' was beyond anything I could've ever imagined or dreamed of. Most of my direction during our scenes consisted of me quietly watching Danny improvise and learning to dread ever interrupting him with the word, "Cut". He was a true professional and I was absolutely honored to work with an actor of his magnitude & skill.
As bittersweet as knowing that Danny will never get to see this may be, I'm hoping that "The Battle of Savage Hill" can at least serve as a partial and well-intentioned bookend to an incredibly creative & wonderfully talented career.
Thank you for your support and please stay tuned!
With prayers & condolences to his family
--- Jeff S. Dodge
